How to Install an Antenna on a Lexus 2003 Rx300

The Lexus Rx300 is a luxury SUV with a raising antenna. Even minor repairs to the RX300 can cost hundreds of dollars at a repair shop. If you would like to repair the RX300s antenna yourself, you can buy a replacement antenna from online auction websites or an auto parts store. You dont have to be a Lexus mechanic to repair your Rx300s antenna. You can do it yourself.

Instructions

Go to the antennas base and remove the nut at the bottom of the base with a wrench.

Get a friend to turn the car on, and then turn the radio on. This will force the antenna to raise. Pull on the antenna as it is raising to release it from the car.

Make sure that the retaining sleeve is at the bottom of the antenna after you have removed it. If it is not, use a pair of pliers to remove the retaining sleeve from the base.

Have your friend turn the car off. Line the new antenna up with the teeth facing the appropriate place in the antennas base. Lock the antenna in place.

Turn the radio back on to test the antenna. If the antenna does not raise fully, wiggle the base until the antenna is properly in place.
