Ford 2 0L Oil Pressure Valve Location

The 2.0-liter Duratec four-cylinder engine is found in many popular Ford vehicles, including the Ford Focus. The oil pressure valve, also known as the oil pressure sender or oil pressure switch, is an important component of the engine control system. Proper functioning of the valve is necessary for the vehicle to run correctly as well as emissions inspection purposes. You can easily check and replace the valve if necessary.

Instructions

    1

Raise the vehicle with a floor jack. Position jack stands under the jacking points on the frame for support. Never work on a vehicle supported only by a floor jack!

    2

Locate the oil filter on the side of the engine closest to the front of the vehicle.

    3

Locate the oil pressure valve on the drivers side of the oil filter bracket on the engine. It can be identified by the electrical connector plugged into it.
