How to Cross a Polaris Filter to a Fram Filter

How to Cross a Polaris Filter to a Fram Filter

Modern automobiles come equipped with numerous filters that help keep unwanted dust and debris from entering the engine and the cabin. There are filters for air going into the engine, air entering the cabin, engine oil and transmission oil. These filters must be replaced as they become clogged with the particles being filtered. Filters for most vehicles can be purchased from several different aftermarket manufacturers that all use their own numbering systems to denote filters for different applications. Therefore, it is often necessary to cross-reference filter information from one brand to another.

Instructions

    1

Identify the Polaris Filter number that is required and the information for the vehicle the filter will be fitted to.

    2

Go to the Fram website by typing "www.fram.com" into a browser address bar.

    3

Click on "Parts Catalog" at the top of the page.

    4

In the left-column, type the Polaris part number in the text field under "Competitor Cross Reference."

    5

Click "Search" to search the part catalog. The results will be displayed on the right side of the page.
