How to Make an 89 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Efficient

The 1989 Jeep Wrangler has several attractive features. Unfortunately, excellent gas mileage is not one of them. Through troubled economic times, most Jeep Wrangler owners have had to compensate for this flaw by adopting some new driving practices, in an effort to increase overall fuel efficiency. Aside from making these changes, there are some products you can use to build and support engine performance, in turn helping the fuel burn more efficiently in your Jeep Wrangler.

Instructions

    1

Pour a commercial fuel additive into your gas tank to clean out the combustion chambers in the engine.

    2

Pour the oil additive into the oil filler cap on the engine to lubricate and rejuvenate the engine.

    3

Replace the air and oil filters according to the instructions provided in your repair manual. Have regular tune-ups performed on the engine, and closely monitor your tire pressure.

    4

Drive in low gears and avoid the use of four-wheel drive.

    5

Roll down your windows rather than using the air conditioning.
