How Often Should You Service a Jeep Compass

Like most vehicles, it is suggested that the Jeep Compass be serviced every 3,000 miles. The Jeep indicator message on the dashboard lights up at 2,500 miles to warn the driver that the car will soon need service.

Identification

Jeep provides owner manuals to all Jeep owners. The manual suggests vehicles be serviced every 3,000 miles if the vehicle is falls under any of the following categories: Day or night temperatures are below 0 C, stop-and-go driving, extensive engine idling, driving in dusty conditions, short trips of less than 10 miles, trailer towing, taxi, police, or delivery service (commercial service), off-road or desert operation, and/or heavy loading.

Resetting Indicator

Because the message indicator illuminates to warn the driver to schedule service, it must be reset once the vehicle is serviced. If the service is pormed by the owner, it must be reset manually so the driver can be reminded of future maintenance needs.

Considerations

Service at 3,000 miles is only a suggestion. To ensure safety, service your vehicle according to your driving habits.
