Park the vehicle on a level surface that is away from traffic and well lit. Turn off the engine and set the emergency brake. Allow the vehicle to sit for 20 to 30 minutes or until the hood is completely cool to the touch.

Crawl under the front end on the drivers side. Locate the fog light attached in the rear of the bumper. Notice the wire plugged into the fog light socket, which is called the wiring harness. Squeeze the sides of the plug with your fingers and then pull it straight out.

Locate and remove the mounting bolts holding the light assembly to the bumper. A simple adjustable wrench will do this job. Then slide out the old fog light assembly.

Slide in the JDM fog light assembly and secure it in the bumper with the same mounting bolts. Plug the wiring harness into the new socket. Repeat this process for the passengers side fog light and you will have completed the upgrade to JDM fog lights.

Open the lift gate of your Jeep and locate the retaining screws along the inner edge of the tail light assembly. Remove the screws with a socket and ratchet and set them aside.

Separate the tail light assembly from the rear of the Jeep and locate the electrical connector on the rear of the assembly. Depress the locking tab and pull the connector away from the tail light back plate.

Remove the two screws that hold the back plate to the tail light assembly with a Phillips head screwdriver then separate the back plate from the tail light. Grasp the bulb and pull it straight out of the back plate. Discard it.

Install a new 3057 bulb into the back plate, pushing it in until it seats firmly in the socket. Install the back plate on the rear of the tail light assembly then install the two retaining screws and tighten them with the Phillips head screwdriver.

Position the tail light assembly on the rear of the Jeep, install the retaining screws and tighten them with a socket and ratchet. Do not over-tighten these screws or you will crack the plastic assembly. Close the lift gate and test the light by turning on the head light switch.

Open the hood of the Dodge Dakota after making sure the interior headlight switch is in the off position.

Approach the headlight assembly that contains the faulty headlight.

Remove the rubber gasket seal from the inside edge of the headlight assembly by unsnapping its retainers.

Locate the retaining screw at the lower junction of the corner marker lens and headlight assembly and remove it with the T-10 Torx head screwdriver.

Use the screwdriver or pry tool to gently unseat the guide pin holding the corner marker lens and running-lights lens assembly from the truck. The guide pin is located at the top behind the corner marker lens. Disconnect the driving lights and corner marker lights from the assembly by turning them a quarter turn counterclockwise and pull them out of the assembly.

Remove the three headlight-assembly retaining screws with the ratchet, extension and 10-mm socket. One is located on the upper inner corner; the next is located at the lower inner corner, and the last one is located at the bottom center.

Pull the headlight assembly forward enough to reach behind it and disconnect the wire harness plug from the back of the headlight socket.

Turn the retaining ring of the headlight a quarter turn counterclockwise to align the retaining tabs of the ring to the release grooves of the assembly and remove the headlight from the assembly and ring.

Install the replacement 9007 combination headlight into the ring and then into the headlight assembly. Be careful not to touch the glass bulb of the replacement headlight. Contact with the bulb with skin will create a weakened "hot spot" on the bulb and cause it to expire prematurely.

Reconnect the wire harness plug to the headlight socket and reverse the headlight assembly, corner marker or running-light assembly and rubber gasket sealer procedures to restore and finish the job.
